What exactly is
ACHC Accreditation?
ACHC has become synonymous with value, integrity, and the industry’s best customer service.
Accreditation is a process of review that allows healthcare organizations to demonstrate their ability to meet regulatory requirements and standards established by a recognized accreditation organization. Accreditation reflects an agency’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that demonstrate a higher level of performance and patient care. ACHC Accreditation Standards were created by industry experts with providers’ needs in mind.
On-site accreditation surveys are conducted every three years by ACHC Surveyors who possess industry-specific experience. They follow a comprehensive review process that looks at organizational structure, policies and procedures, and compliance with state and federal laws.
What is Medicare Certification?
A health care provider (like a home health agency, hospital or nursing home) that's been approved by Medicare.
Providers are approved or "certified" by Medicare if they've passed an inspection conducted by a state government agency. Medicare only covers care given by providers who are certified like Lake Centre Home Care.
Certification is when the State Survey Agency officially recommends its findings
regarding whether health care entities meet the Social Security Act's provider or
supplier definitions, and whether the entities comply with standards required by Federal
